The HOPE Program: Healing of Parents Emotions

The HOPE program endeavors to ensure families in which a child has been diagnosed with or transitioned because of cancer is loved, supported, encouraged, strengthened and are able to realize that hope is possible after such a traumatic experience. The HOPE program serves parents and siblings with the primary purpose of Healing Of Parents Emotions. We seek to help parents answer questions that often plague and bombard the mind after this type of painful and distressing experience: Why? Does God love me? Does God care? Is it my fault and what did I do wrong to deserve this? Can I still believe and trust God?

Who

: Married parents (man and woman, male and female); single parent (man or woman, male or female). Parents also include guardians and/or foster parents who fall into the aforementioned criteria (i.e. Married parents (man and woman, male and female); single parent (man or woman, male or female). Siblings of the child.

What

: We will house the parents for a 4 day-3 night all-inclusive expense paid trip to our city. They will receive spa treatments, a personal chef, all meals, a tour of the city, grief and counseling support, workshop(s) etc. and be treated like the royalty that our God has created them to be.

When

The all-inclusive and expense paid trip depends upon availability funding.

How

  • The married parents (man and woman, male and female); single parent (man or woman, male or female) will be required to fill out an application and submit at least 2 pictures of themselves and their deceased child.
  • Married parents, husband and wife will be required to attest that they are legally married (born a male and female, man and woman) and submit a copy of their marriage license.
  • Married parents and single parents will be required to submit a original copy of their birth certificate that includes a stamp, engravement or embossment from the Department of Vital Statistics for the State in which they were born.
  • Both the married couple and the single parent will be required to submit to a federal and state background check
